Prices below are based on a group of two to four people taking the trip.
If the group is bigger, the price might go down, if you are alone the

One day walking tour on the foothills of
Mt. Meru
The tour starts from Arusha town
to Oldonyo Sapuk village which lies around 2000 meters above sea level.
Before you reach the village, the tour will take you through other villages
where local people grow crops like coffee, banana, maize and vegetables.
In this village live the Waarusha people who are related to the Maasai.
This village is about 7 km away from Arusha town. It lies on foothills
of Mount Meru where you can enjoy a nice panoramic view of Arusha, Mount
Meru if the weather is clear, and landscapes around the area together
with its foothills. This mountain is the fifth tallest mountain of Africa.
There is a waterfall in the Reserve Forest of Mount Meru. It’s
possible to visit while on the tour but you need to have good Shoes
to walk down and up the steep slope to go to the waterfall.
The tour takes about seven hours going and returning. While in the village
you may visit the primary school or a ‘boma’, this is the
local house of the Waarusha, and you will be able to learn about their
culture, if you are interested.

One day walkingtrip at the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro
Moshi is the land of Chagga people;
the people who are native to the Kilimanjaro region. Walking in Moshi
is done on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The ‘roof of Africa’
is splendid place to visit escpacially the waterfalls found in Materuni
and Marangu Villages. You will enjoy countryside, local people, and
depending on the weather, beautiful views of Mt. Kilmanjaro. On the
way to the waterfall you stop at a viewpoint overlooking the breathtaking
natural environment of green grass, a variety of trees, banana groves,
and coffee plantations all surrounding the village below. You will also
visit Marangu Gate which leads to the Marangu Route of Kilimanjaro National
Park.
Transport to the starting point will be with local little busses. (will
take around 2 hours)

Songoro Hills, half-day / full-day
The tour starts from Metto Cultural
Tourism Programme office. Walk up to Songoro Hills where you will have
panoramic views of Mt. Meru, Kilimanjaro, Ngurdoto Crater in Arusha
National Park, and Duluti Crater Lake. On the way back you will pass
coffee and banana farms before finishing your tour with a visit to Mountain
Green Dairy Factory and the KIWAHUMU vocational training centre.
Transport to the startingpoint will be with local little busses. (will
take around half an hour) And taxi.
Price half-day: 40 USD p.p.
Price full-day: 55 USD p.p.
Hotsprings and Marangu Waterfalls
Half way between Arusha and Moshi you will find a fairy-like oasis in
the middle of a deserted area. Here you can go swimming in the nicely
warm water with turtles while the monkeys play in the trees above.
Then you will drive to the Marangu waterfalls where you will take steep
stairs to descend to the end of the waterfall. Here it is also possible
to swim, although the water is slightly colder. After you enjoyed your
lunch you will drive back to Arusha, with a good possibility of seeing
the highest mountain of Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Arusha National park
Only 45 minutes away from busy Arusha,
this national park is a great oppurtunity to see a lot of wildlife and
nature in a day. Despite the small size of the park, common animals
include giraffe, buffalo, zebra, warthog, the blue monkey, flamingos
and more. And this is the only place in Northern Tanzania where the
black-and-white colobus monkey is easily seen. You will enjoy your packed
lunch in the park.
You will visit the Momela lakes and the beautiful landscape of the Ngurdoto
crater. It is possible to go hiking and canoeing inside the park.

Walking tour in Arusha Town
A half day walking/driving tour
through Arusha town.
You will start at the many coffee plantations just a little outside
of Arusha. After that you will visit the local market where people sell
fruits, vegetables, meat and pots & pans. The guide will explain
to you about typical Tanzanian food, like Ugali, ndizi and the many
tropical fruits you will find on the market. Then it is time to do some
shopping for beautiful craftworks, paintings and jewellery at the craft
market. After lunch you will be taken back to your accommodation.

Visit the Meserani snakepark and Maasaimarket (only Tuesday)
Meserani snakepark is located only
half an hour away from Arusha. Here you will find some of the most dangerous
snakes in the world. You can even hold a real life snake. Next to the
snakepark there is a Maasai Cultural Museum. Here you will find out
everything about the Maasai people and their traditions.
On Tuesday it is possible to visit the Maasai market where a lot of
Maasai come together to buy and sell their cattle.
