MT. MERU – 6 DAYS

Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro International Airport (K.I.A) , transfer to Arusha / Moshi in a hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mt. Meru climb starts at around 11:00 a.m. On the way, you may encounter giraffes, elephants and buffaloes. You will walk for about 4 - 5 hours through a dense rain forest and Savannah grassland to Maria Kamba Hut (2500m) with a lunch break on the way.

Day 3: After a late breakfast, proceed to Saddle Hut. The dense rain forest and Savannah Grassland gives way to Moorland shortly before the Saddle Hut. Overnight will be at Saddle hut (3500m). Interested climbers can ascend little Meru (3800m), which takes about an hour before retiring to the hut for a night's rest.

Day 4: Early morning 6:00 a.m. ascend Mt. Meru peak (4556m). From here, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro peaks and the vast plains hosting the Arusha National Park . You then descend to Saddle Hut for late breakfast before proceeding to Miria kamba Hut for overnight.

Day 5: Descend to Momella gate and transfer to Arusha/Moshi for a hot shower and dinner and overnight.

Mt. Meru is 4565 meters and located at Arusha National Park . Some clients prefer to acclimatize more before they climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Mount Meru is an ideal way of doing so.

Day 6: Transfer to departure Kilimanjaro International Airport or by shuttle to Nairobi or to your next safari destination.
